Abstract: The aim of this research work was to formulate fast-dissolving oral films of sitagliptin phosphate for the treatment of diabetes mellitus. The fast dissolving films of sitagliptin phosphate were prepared by solvent casting method using film forming polymers HPMC E 15 and HPMC E 50 cps and PEG and propylene glycol are used as plasticizers. All the films prepared were evaluated for weight variation, thickness, folding endurance, percentage elongation, tensile strength, drug content, In-vitro disintegration time, in-vitro dissolution test, SEM analysis and stability studies. All the results were found to be satisfactory. Among all the formulations F3 was showed a disintegration time of 20 sec and 99 % of drug released in 3 minutes respectively. Based on the above results it can be concluded that the fast dissolving oral films of Sitagliptin phosphate may produce the rapid action thereby enhance the absorption by avoiding the first pass effect.
