Preliminary Phytochemical Screening of Leaf Extracts of Cassia montana in Different Solvents

Abstract: Cassia montana Heyne ex. Roth of Caesalpiniaceae family is screened to evaluate different phytochemicals present in the leaf, extracted in different solvents at preliminary level so as to agree with its medicinal properties. Alkaloids, Tannins and Flavonoids are present in the selected plant species which are very important phytochemicals in the pharmaceutical industry.
