Abstract: Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by the bacillus Mycobacterium tuberculosis, it typically affects lungs (pulmonary TB) but can affect other sites as well (extra pulmonary TB).1 Tuberculosis (TB) is a major global health problem causing ill-health among millions of people each year and ranks alongside the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) as a leading cause of death worldwide resulting in increased morbidity and mortality1, 5. Tuberculosis is today the biggest infectious killer among young people and adults.
